The Gandhigram Rural Institute maintains its Higher Education Ecosystem through Teaching, Research and Extension. The Institute has created a new vertical in the form of Research and Development Cell (RDC) which supports all research related initiatives which is being headed by a senior academician as Director.

• To process the proposal including, Research Projects, Seminars, Conferences, Fellowships, Patent filing and MoUs through fast track mode;
• To promote inter, multi and trans-disciplinary Rural Oriented Research;
• To mobilize funds from consultancy services;

• To initiative Venture Capital Scheme for Promoting Rural Teacherapreneur and Technopreneur
